About Detroit Receiving Hospital - Oral Max Facial Surgery
Detroit Receiving Hospital - Oral Max Facial Surgery is a medical clinic in Detroit, Michigan. It is listed at 4201 St. Antoine St, Detroit, MI 48201, which places it among the local businesses of Detroit that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. In Detroit, urgent care centers are busiest on weekends and evenings when doctors' offices are closed, and most post their wait times online. Across Michigan, primary care practices often have a waitlist for new patients, so establishing care before you need it saves time. For a dental emergency outside office hours, an urgent care center can prescribe antibiotics and pain relief but cannot fix the tooth; a hospital emergency room can treat swelling that affects breathing or swallowing. Check the listing for insurance, hours and whether telehealth visits are offered.
No hours are on file. If you plan a visit, phone first or check the Google Maps link on this page for the latest times. The listed phone number is (313) 745-4697. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.
Its Google rating stands at 2.2 out of 5 from 15 reviews, which is below average for the category; consider the recent reviews carefully before visiting.
Detroit is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Detroit follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I was extremely scared and anxious going into this procedure. I had all four wisdom teeth removed at once, including impacted lower thirds that carried a risk of nerve damage, and after a previously botched experience elsewhere, I was honestly petrified. From the moment I arrived, the surgeon and the entire staff were incredibly kind, calming, and professional. The icing on the cake was that my surgery took half the time they originally anticipated. I woke up the next day with no swelling and minimal pain, simply by following the thorough and comprehensive post-op instructions they provided. The only minor downside was being on the waitlist for a little over a month, but I understand I scheduled my consultation toward the end of the year, so availability was limited. Overall, this team completely restored my confidence and sense of safety. 10/10 would recommend, and Iβm extremely grateful to the surgeon and the entire staff for such excellent care.

This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at any medical facility. First of all, the elevator was broken and I have a really bad back and I had to walk up three flights of stairs. Then, nobody was very helpful and I had to wheel myself, and many of the doors did not have an automatic button to open. The wheelchair barely fit through them. That was the good part. The people at this clinic were extremely rude and completely insensitive to the fact that I am phobic. I heard so many people screaming in pain, if I wasnβt in a wheelchair, I would have run out of there. The worst part was, I tried to tell them and express my needs, and they did not care at all. In fact, they blamed me for not being more prepared. Worst of all, all the dentist did was tell me I need to get my medical records to him. Why didnβt they tell me that before the appointment? I will never return to this facility again, unless Iβm half dead and thereβs no other choice. Very disrespectful people and not ADA compliant at all.

I should have read the reviews first. Because I see why they got the reputation they do. Mouth has not been right since getting 1 side of my wisdom teeth removed. Now I canβt get in contact with anyone. Jaw can barely open, need antibiotics, they also pushed my teeth down so hard I felt it through the numbing. There were about 5 people giving input on my mouth and working on it too. Staff is full of students and no teachers in the room with them. 2 months after extractions and Iβm in terrible pain and believe itβs causing migraines and more complications. Donβt go here. Especially if you may need follow up care.

I have gone 3 times in the last few months. Each time the hospital itself was awful. 1st one was the consultation which wasnβt bad. 2nd time I got 2 top molars removed. The woman I had for a doctor was very nice and careful with how she did everything. Didnβt require any stitches, no pain and no swelling after. I was perfectly fine. Now to my experience August 5th 2024. HORRIBLE. The male who pulled my teeth was awful. I had my 2 lower molars removed. He didnβt carefully break them out or anything, HE YANKED my teeth as if he was using pliers. So he broke my teeth down to the roots and had to CUT THEM OUT because of what he did. So I am now stuck with 5 stitches in my mouth. 2 on one side and 3 on the other. Because he did the same thing both times as if it was gonna be a different outcome the second time. Now on top of him trying to yank my teeth out of my head, he didnβt listen when I felt the pain. No it wasnβt pressure, I could feel the PAIN shoot through my jaw when he tried to yank my teeth out. Before he even started I let him know he needed to make sure to numb me 2x as much because the numbing does not work for me. I know from personal experience. I warned him and he didnβ

Back 20 years ago, this place was different, I had one tooth removed & got put to sleep....recently I had all my teeth pulled was charged to be put to sleep but they didn't put me all the way to sleep....I felt half the surgery....then had to return because my gums had to have bones smoothed down, they gave me 4 shots to numb me, I felt the pressure of them nipping the bone and filing it down, they were pinching my chin, consequently ended up with a bruise!!! I never want to visit the tooth vampires again!!! I would not refer this oral surgery office...just my experience....
